Multi-Project
Wafer Service |
| |
The SMIC MPW (Multi-Project Wafer) program provides customers
a cost-effective prototyping service by enabling multiple customers
and projects to share common masks and engineering wafers.
Currently, we provide shuttle services from 0.35¦Ìm to 90nm for
logic, mixed-signal/RF CMOS and EEPROM technologies on a regular
basis. We also provide shuttle services for 65 nm logic technologies.
To enable process and product design checks and verification
so as to avoid delays, SMIC employs standard monitors (SRAM
and EEPROM) in our MPW service. Additionally, we support customers'
backend needs with packaging capabilities such as quad flat
pack and low-profile quad flat pack which are provided by our
partners.
Enhanced accessibility
Customers can enjoy enhanced accessibility to our MPW service, which is also available at ten MPW centers throughout China. These centers are:
Beijing: The EDA Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing IC Design Park, MPW Center (Peking University)
Chengdu: Chengdu ICC
Fujian: Fujian ICC
Hong Kong: Science and Technology Parks
Nanjing: Institute of Radio Frequency & Opto-Electronic-ICs, Southeast University
Shanghai: Shanghai Research Center for IC Design
Shenzhen: Shenzhen IC Design Incubation
Xi'an: Xi'an IC Industrial Center
SMIC's MPW shuttle frequency
has increased to 7 shuttles per month, providing rapid turnaround
time and greater flexibility for our customers.
MPW schedule information, seat reservation, service request
and tape-out can be done conveniently in SMIC-NOW.
