Continuous Learning & Development

The personal and professional growth of our employees is as important as the growth of our company. We provide a wide range of opportunities for our employees to foster constant personal and professional development, enabling them to meet the ever-changing needs of the dynamic semiconductor industry.

On-the-job Learning

SMIC is committed to the continuous learning and development of its employees. A comprehensive curriculum of more than 500 courses is offered annually, covering a wide variety of topics including Fab operation training, semiconductor fabrication technology, management skills, and other general knowledge. SMIC also offers employees opportunities to attend external training seminars and conferences in China or overseas for further development. Additionally, mentorship training allows experienced staff members to draw from their personal and professional experiences to support junior staff members.

Continuous Education Program

SMIC encourages employees to continue their further education at schools as part-time students with tuition subsidies to enhance their personal competencies and contributions to work and society. We offer joint education programs with first-tier universities in China such as Fudan University, Jiaotong University, and Shanghai University. Degrees can be earned through several programs including Master's Degree Program, Credit Program for Master's Degrees, Bachelor's Degree Program, and College Certificate Program. For the convenience of our employees, many classes for these popular programs are conducted on SMIC premises.

Individual Training Plan

At SMIC, employees can customize their training program through the Individual Training Plan (ITP). ITP allows employees the flexibility to design a curriculum tailored to meeting the needs in achieving their professional goals.
